Colors do affect mood and even buying signals. Choosing the best website color scheme for your site is actually not that difficult. Ideally, a website should have 2 to 3 color combinations only. The first is usually the dominant color. The second color becomes its alter ego but in my experience, the second color can be a complimentary or a lighter shade of your dominant color. The third color should and can only be a neutral tone. This is usually gray, off-white or palest variation of your dominant color.
